personable objects

Because of the way they look, some objects are able to evoke the same sentiments of affection and sympathy we thought we could only feel for living creatures. These are objects we want to adopt; they look at us in that funny way, as if they liked us too. We call them "personable objects."

The Urchin container, designed by Roberto Zanon and Satomi Yoshida-Katz, is as much of a home accessory as a creature from outer space. But not one of those evil aliens that keep threatening our existence in Hollywood flicks, rather a friendly one. Just like ET, the Urchin is the type of alien we want to take home.

Giovanni Pellone and Bridget Means' Goober mouse pad was conceived as a friendly desktop assistant. In this technological era of computers, RAM and gigabytes, we sure can all use one. His role is not to help you perform your tasks more efficiently, but instead to bring a smile into your gloomy office routine, or to hop along on your late night web adventures.
